Personal opinion: For sure being smart is the new sexy, and I don't say it, the evolution is proclaiming that. A few million years ago strong man were bluntly the sex symbols and when the Roman empire appeared the woman started to admire the emperors, and Julius Caesar wasn't very handsom. So, what does woman preffer? POWER. And the insertion of the capitalism remarked this idea.
Suddenly all the desired man were rich, and they asked for good-locking woman inspired with the image of celebrities. Yet, the currents requested man are the ones who have the ideal combination of sexynes and intelligence. Smart is directly proportional with money and well, sexyness revive the physics flame.
In conclusion, in the past woman prefered rich man, but now the smarters and handsomes are the most desired, asired of teenagers celebrities. You can be the richest man of the planet but you won't have a clever girl holding your hand if you aren't a bit educated, cultured and with clearly defined values. Cultivate the mind is more important than cultivate the body.
