On cloud nine: The World Is Running Out Of Chocolate

Summary:The International Coca Organization reports that the overwhelming desire for chocolate would cause a huge cocoa deficits in six years. On the next year the sweet manufacturers hope they would sell 7.3 million tons of chocolate, 2.1 percent more than this year. Even, on 2013 we ate 70.000 metric tons more chocolate than farmers produced. This demand is extremely excessive in countries like China and Malaysia. Yet, the 70% cocoa is produced in Ghana and the Ivory Coast, where they have a dependance on the rain. Also, some farmers have a plague that's killing the 30 or 40% of them crops by a fungus called frosty pod.

Personal opinion: Chocolate it's been used by the Maya civilization for 3000 years, that's a long time! Christopher Columbus took cocoa to Europe and the rest is history. Nowadays a lot of African farmers are loosing them crops and that's increasing chocolate's price. One day only the richest people would eat chocolate. I love chocolate, it's my favourite type of food, in particular the white and with milk ones, i don't like very much the dark chocolate. I can't imagine a life without cocoa, it has hormones which increase happiness. So, the lack of chocolate would make a sad world, without Ferrero Roche, brownies, hot chocolate with churros, lovely cupcakes or oreo's cakes. If finally, the world run's ot of chocolate, I'll go to the supermarket and buy thousand boxs of chocolate and keep it in a secure place.
